Welcome to my first post.
It always amazes me how much weather affects my mood. Warm sunshine can have a powerful effect. Like a tonic, a wonderful remedy, it's effects are immediate -- taking me away, like a Calgon moment...from my gloom to a happier place. But there is to be no sun today..only heavy rain and wind. And since more rain is predicted for the week ahead, I have chosen to share my little windowsill garden. It's just a few flowering plants-- a pink Rieger begonia, a red geranium, a pot of blue Dauphin violets and newly planted tiny pots of fragrant herbs containing seeds of spearmint, basil and catnip.
Henry, my sweet black and white cat, sleeps contentedly beside me, oblivious to the raindrops pounding against the window.
In spite the storm outside, it is cozy here in this room. Today, gloom is staying outside my door. Inside I've a scented candle lit, soft music, and my flowering plants -- all of them bringing a message of cheer and prayers of hope for sunny days to come.
